2 Rants from me about the bruins head coach
#1
Posted 09 March 2009 - 02:45 PM
1) does he still not get the farking picture yet and what 15 games left
Kevin Paul Dupont mentioned this stats
96% of the bruins' wins came with the lineup as this
Kessel-Savard-Lucic
Ryder-Krecji-Wheeler
Reechi-Bergie-Kobesew
Bitz-Yelle-Thornton
anyone notice who is MISSING
AXELSON he is a virus to this team KPD says as when he is in the lineup with Savard and kessel we lose
the other night Julien after our HUGE victory vs Blackhawks(who had 10 game winning streak)
he says oh lets try something new versus NYR
lineup shakeups
Kessel-Savard-Axelson
Ryder-Krecji-Reechi
Hunwick-Bergie-Kobesew
Thornton-Yelle-Lucic
ok well we lost big time and got hammered and he benched the top nhl rookie scorer who Wheeler was on a 11 game scoring/point streak
also Thomas was BENCHED and both him and Wheeler where listed as
HEALTHY COACHES DECISION-SHAKEUP
so they were not hurt
and oh guess Boston has a new MANNY being MANNY
Manny Fernadez has lost 6 straight and after the game he flies in the dressing room and gets dressed goes straight home and does not particpate in the manditory post-game meeting players and coaches have
Manny F. also refused outright to chat witth any member of the media
a friend of his from Minn. told Kevin Dupont today
Manny F. seems not to happy with his limited playing time in goal this is why he is pissed and grumpy
my beef is if you got a goal who is HOT like Thomas why change
Thomas in last 10 games is 7-2-1
Fernadez in last 10 games is 2-6-2
oh what does Julien have to say when asked why he screwed p the linesups and lost worst game this year
"OH THOMAS AND WHEELER NEEDED TO BE SHOWN THAT WE NEED MORE FROM THEM THEN JUST THE STREAKS THEY HAVE GIVEN US"
also Wheeler has not missed a single game this year iron-man streak
that is gone thanks to stupid Julien
also KPDupont stated also last night that Julien is notorious he has done same thing in all 3 other NHL teams he head coached example
NJ Devils
they had best nhl record doing good
Marty Broduer had 3 straight shutotus and then julien benced in and called up Weekes for backup
what happened after they lost this game
Lou Lamaerillo FIRED CLAUDE JULIEN for breaking up chemistry and good winning streaks by benching future ahll of famer Marty B.

I am waiting patiently for rant #2 and for the English translation of rant #1.
Strange, I didn't know the NHL still existed!!!

If the Bruins flame out again, it will be incredibly disappointing. There will be plenty of blame to place, but it won't all fall on the coach.
While I agree Axelsson doesn't belong on a top scoring line, I think that you're going overboard on the criticism of coaching decisions. The Bruins were the best team in the league for a full three-month period, but the skid they hit in early February is certainly proving to be more than just a fluke. The team is not playing well and Julien is trying to shake things up and find some combinations that work. You can bet on Thomas starting every game in the playoffs, so giving him some rest down the stretch is not a terrible idea.
They had the look of a Cup winner in December, but they resemble nothing of the like right now. Hopefully they figure something out over the next month and hit the playoffs with some momentum, because a #8 seed like Pittsburgh or New York would be more than capable of beating them if the playoffs started today.

first you do not undertsnad hockey I guess when you got a 5,6,7,8,10,11,12 game winning streak going on and no one is slumping why screw up and shake the lines up
this is exactly what he has done on 4 other teams
NJ was a major issue exp. Martin Broduer winning 3-4 consecutive shutouts then get benched for 3 games what was NJ's record in those 3 0-3 before this 12-1
this makes no sense if you are scoring and winning why break up a good thing
like tonight Manny the farking asshole Fernadez gets the call yet again despite Thomas going 6-1-1 in last 8 games and Manny is 0-6-0 in his last six
makes no sense my father is 62 yrs old he has watched Bruins since he was very young and he never seen a coach benhc players for doing a good job
Wheeler was benched after a 8 game point streak and also wheeler never lost/missed 1 single game to injury

I guess Wheeler appreciated the education he got in the press box that night. When you have a young kid, doing this is a GOOD thing. Plus, he isn't used to the pace of a full NHL season, so the occasional day off is also a good thing.
As for goaltending, when you are already in the playoffs, it isnt a bad thing to give your backup some time to make sure he is playoff ready if an injury happens.
Honestly, it isnt the team who is best in early March that wins the cup. Its the team playing best when the playoffs hit. Time off to rest for players and time on the ice for possible injury replacements is not a bad thing.
Again, back to the link I posted, here is a telling paragraph:
"In the games leading up to being scratched, though, Wheeler's legs weren't whirring the way they were earlier in the season when he was among the league's brightest rookies. When he watched Saturday, Wheeler noticed right away that the most successful players - new teammate Mark Recchi had an especially high-energy game - were the ones skating effectively."
Anyway, teams always shake up lines and such. It is very useful for injuries and game situations with players in the Box to have interchangeable lines.
All said, I'll reserve judgement for when the playoffs begin. NOONE hoists the cup in early March.
