Think that first Seattle series will be a media circus or what? Wonder where they will stuff in all of the Japanese press?

The whole season will be a circus. Matsuzaka vs. Ichiro will probably be the biggest draw, both in Boston and in Seattle, but a potential Matsuzaka vs. Matsui, Matsuzaka vs. Igawa game against the Yankees would definitely lead to a ridiculous amount of Japanese media coverage as well.

I agree. But that first time will really be amazing. Though no doubt it'll really all begin in spring training I guess... There will probably be more Japanese press than fans during ST..

I just (very unscientifically) went through the schedule and predicted 97 wins this season. I don't think I was being too generous, but it's obviously too early to make anything close to an accurate prediction.

Well I can see that as a possible win total but I want to see how they fill the closer hole first.... That could make for a bit of a roster adjustment...

Barry Bonds at Fenway? I'm going to find someone going and have themhold up "Don't boo, he'll call us racist" every time he comes up to bat.

Who's making a return? Roberts is all i can think of. Are we facing the mets?

I just noticed the schedule and how it's sort of a weird ending with the last 2 series against Oakland and Minn.... At least they are both at home..

No Mets. We get the Braves twice and then all NL West teams except for no Dodgers.... Too bad... Dodgers would have been fun...

FramCire: dude, Nick Green wore 42 today
nyr94champ: no way
nyr94champ: no one can wear that number
FramCire: bet you $100 he wore it today
nyr94champ: if he did that is a disgrace
nyr94champ: no respect for Jackie

I might try to catch them this year when they come thru Oakland. Though that stadium is horrific. But it's real easy to get tickets since the A's just don't draw....

Going to be quite interesting to see what type of reaction Barry Bonds gets at Fenway after his public criticism of the city.

We have the Angels for the Patriots Day game. 63% of our September games are at home, which is nice.

That 3 game homestand is pretty damn near close to the end of the season. I don't think either of us want to be playing one another the last weekend of September or anything, like in 2005. We faced them at almost the exact same time next year as this past year-- with 2 weeks left in the season. I think it's perfect.

I don't want to feel compelled to screw up our postseason rotation because of a head-to-head matchup with the MFY. We can also use that last weekend to rest Manny and Drew and others.
